Pork chops are a big staple in my house, and it seems like they always have been. We ate them a lot growing up, and I guess I just carried that love of pork into adult-hood. I love them on the grill with
, and of course, the classic pork-chops and gravy meal is still a favorite. But, sometimes I like to shake things up and make something totally new.
Recently, I was looking for some new dinner ideas to get us out of a bit of a food rut, and found a lot of my meal plans from ten years ago. There were so many meals I’d forgotten about over time, including this one!
For old-time’s sake, I re-made this old family favorite, and it was just as much of a hit now as it was back then. I decided to pull it out of the recipe vault and share it here.

I love this recipe because it’s a totally different take on how I grew up eating pork chops. The sauce is a little sweet and a little spicy, and
with flavor. If you’re looking for something to pair it with to make a full meal, I love putting this over mashed sweet potatoes with a green veggie on the side!

Remove your cooked pork chops from skillet and cover with foil.
Next, combine cherries, cranberry juice, and mustard in the skillet. Cook and stir for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce is bubbly. If you want your sauce a little thicker, add a small amount of corn starch and stir well. You can also use pinch of
gluccomannan powder link no longer available to thicken it if you’re staying away from grains. This powder is a much more gut-friendly option for thickening foods, and helps you feel full longer.
This is great served over mashed sweet potatoes with your favorite green vegetable as a side.
