My September Monthly Wellness Box from Young Living
Health and Wellness
Hey friends! It’s that time of month again. Time for my monthly Young Living order! I shared my order on the blog for the first time last month, and had a good response, so I thought I’d try it again! I know when I first started using essential oils, I couldn’t understand how I’d ever justify monthly ordering. Really, I just didn’t understand the value.
If you’ve thought about joining Young Living and participating in the essential rewards program, you might enjoy this blog post series.
You can read about last month’s order here.
What on Earth do you order every single month?!
That’s a question I get asked a lot. I get it, because I used to feel the same way! I wasn’t on a team that actually taught me about the oils, and I was totally lost on exactly what was being offered. Now that I’ve joined an amazing team, though, and learned about all of the different products Young Living offers, I’ve found my budget increasing.
That doesn’t mean I’m actually spending more money, though. The beauty of Young Living products is that they are so diverse that you can do something called transfer buying. That means that instead of going to Target to buy my cleaning and household products, I’m using that money to order cleaner, more natural alternatives. Doing this, we’ve been able to almost completely eliminate toxic products from our house this year!
If you’re curious about what I ordered, my monthly wellness box for September includes:
Thieves Household Cleaner
I talk about this cleaner so much.
much. It is my favorite all natural, plant based cleaner. I use in just about every single area of my home, including:
as an all-purpose cleaner in the kitchen,
mixed with baking soda as a soft-scrub for the tub and sinks,
as a stain remover for the kids’ laundry,
as a cleaner when I mop my floors,
and, in my car for the dash and any stains on the upholstery.
Want some ideas on how to use this cleaner yourself?
Be sure to check out this post for my favorite recipes.
Lavender Mint Shampoo (x2)
I bought this shampoo on one of my first orders hoping I’d like it and be able to switch. I’ve had the hardest time finding natural shampoos that I like!
The good news is, I love it. It leaves my hair feeling clean, has an invigorating smell, and cleared up all of my itchy scalp issues.
The bad news is, it goes out of stock a
. I had to buy the lavender shampoo when it was time to re-stock, because it was out of stock. I like the lavender shampoo, but not nearly as much. When I saw that my favorite was in stock, I wasn’t messing around. I added
to my order as quickly as possible so I’ll have a back-up!
Not going to lie. I ordered this on accident, but it’ll be nice to have extra shampoo for awhile. I meant to order the lavender mint conditioner! I’ll have to put in another order this month before I run out.
In the meantime, my kids are running low on shampoo, and I’d rather them use the lavender shampoo than the one containing mint, because it seems a little gentler. I’ll make the best of it and put this one in their bathroom so they quit stealing mine!
This is a supplement that Young Living sent us for free a few months ago, and we have started making sure to keep it on hand! It’s great for joint health, and contains tumeric, which is an added bonus. If you don’t know the benefits of tumeric, I really recommend you look it up!
I try to take this supplement regularly, but I’ll be honest. I usually forget! My husband takes it every single day, though, and says he can feel a difference when he doesn’t take it! Since I have a lot of arthritis and joint issues from years of not respecting my body while I knit 8 hours a day, I should really make this one a priority.
Another supplement for my husband! He enjoys the oils, but I think what he’s really hooked on is the supplements. This one aides in healthy digestion, which is always a bonus! Everyone can benefit from focusing on gut health, and this is a good way to do it.
Valor Essential Oil
Valor. Where do I even begin? Back when I first started using Young Living, Valor came in the starter kit (it doesn’t now), and I honestly hated it. I didn’t use it for about a year, but when I needed a lot of help calming down and gaining control of some emotions, it was recommended. I tried it, and suddenly fell in love. It’s now a true necessity in our house, so I’m re-stocking before I run out. Over time, we’ve discovered a few more uses for this oil. We both run it down our spines for extra spinal support, add it to our baths to help settle down, and diffuse it (or sniff it straight from the bottle) any time we need a little courage.
Purification Essential Oil (x2)
I personally think Purification is a must for anyone. It eliminates odors, so it’s a great option for all over your house, car, and even gym bag. I diffuse it every time I clean, add it to an air freshener in my car, and also put it on my wool dryer balls to freshen up my laundry. It has so many uses, and I make sure to never run out. As a bonus, it even comes in the Premium Starter Kit, so you can get hooked on it really early!
This month I bought one for me, so I don’t run out, and one for a friend that added on to my order.
Lavender Essential Oil
I call lavender the “Swiss Army Knife” of essential oils. It just has
many uses, and I swear everything falls apart when I run out. Seriously. I was out for a week and didn’t know what to do with myself.
My kids didn’t sleep, my acne flared up, my baths weren’t nearly as relaxing, and most of my favorite diffuser blends were lacking. It’s a must-have in our house, and I hope I never run out again. This is another oil in the PSK, and it’s a great oil to get started with since it has so many uses! Some ways we use lavender:
to soothe minor cuts, burns, and bug bites
in my facial toner and moisturizer to help soothe my skin
in a bedtime roller for my kids
I make a mermaid hair spray to help promote healthy hair growth
there’s a drop in my mascara to promote lash growth
I use it in my bath salts at night
we diffuse it ever night to get ready for bed
These are just some of the most common ways we use it, but there are many more!

R.C. Essential Oil
We’re re-stocking again on this one! This is an amazing oil for respiratory support, and we diffuse it every night. It is especially helpful for us right now as we’re battling all of the extra toxins in the air after the storm, because we’ve all had breathing problems!
Another favorite way to use this oil is in my bath salts. It really helps when I’m under the weather to add it to the hot water and let it steam.
And guess what? This is
oil in the PSK. I guess I was basically re-ordering my kit this month because I feel like I was out of almost everything!
