First and foremost, I have to say that my planners are the link no longer available essential tools for getting things done. I am a list-maker, and a visual person, so writing things down keeps me on-task and helps me to not forget what’s going on.
My personal favorites are the link no longer available Erin Condren Life Planner link no longer available Inkwell Press Classic link no longer available . (Tip: Those links will get you $10 off your first purchase if you see one you love!) Now, I know, I know.
Trust me, I used to think the same thing, before I started my blog. I used to keep everything in my Erin Condren planner, including to-do’s for my other business. However, with the decision to start a blog, came the need for an editorial calendar. I now use my Erin Condren as an editorial calendar and my Inkwell Press as my personal planner. I’ll go into how I use both planners in more detail in a future post.
My 2017 Inkwell Press Planner Setup link no longer available My Macbook is another vital tool in how I balance being a mompreneur and household duties. Mainly, because without a good, reliable computer, I wouldn’t even be able to work at home! Both of my businesses are conducted online, and while having a smart phone
, it’s hard to be professional without an actual keyboard. Plus, I take a link no longer available of pictures, and need a way to edit them.
That brings me to my camera! Now, the camera pictured above is not mine. I have yet to figure out how to take a picture
my camera. That one is my daughter’s. Now, while I link no longer available encourage the use of a DSLR so that you have more control, I will also say that mine is nothing fancy. In fact, it’s kind of a dinosaur in terms of technology. I’m currently shooting with a Nikon D40 with a 35 mm lens. It’s the only lens I have that’s not broken, to be honest, and lenses are so expensive that I haven’t been able to add to my collection in awhile.
Still, it works for what I need. I am able to take gorgeous pictures of my kids and family events, and also turn around and use it for product and blog shots. I’ve had it for 8 years, and I’m starting my second business with it, in addition to countless pictures of my kids and vacations. I’d say it’s been a worthwhile investment. I do hope to buy a new one, soon, and I’m currently looking at
. I love Nikon cameras, and don’t think you could go wrong with any of them.
A Journal (or Notebook) link no longer available Finally, I always say it is link no longer available important to keep a journal. It doesn’t have to be a traditional “Dear Diary” type of journal. Just a
and pen that you can keep with you. I’m never without some sort of notebook! I use it for brain dumping, to-do lists, ideas and inspiration, etc. I know a lot of people like to do this on their phones and tablets these days, but there is just
about pen and paper for me. If technology is your preference, then go for it! The important thing is that you have somewhere to jot down all of these things that go through your mind on a daily basis. It helps keep you on task, and keeps everything in one place.
