Using a diffuser isn’t always practical. During those times, try one of these DIY essential oil inhaler recipes instead!

For years, essential oils have been part of my wellness arsenal. They’re a must-have when it comes to everything from

to bug bites and even upset tummies.

There was a time, not that long ago, that I made it a point to carry bottles of essential oils around with me everywhere I went. You never know when you’ll need them, right?

But the thing is, carrying around full bottles of oil isn’t always practical. They break, and leak, and take up a bit of space. Of course, there’s always roller bottles, but I don’t always want to

like essential oils, either! (Let’s face it, some of the most effective oils don’t exactly make a great perfume).

Luckily, there’s another option. Essential oil inhalers are the link no longer available solution for anyone wanting an easy way to carry around their favorite oils, and they’re

Today, I’m sharing what you’ll need, how to make them, and some of my favorite recipes to use. Keep reading for all the details!

What is an Essential Oil Inhaler link no longer available Essential oil inhalers are small plastic containers about the size of a chapstick tube. They have a small cotton wick inside that holds essential oils so you can smell them on the go.

These inhalers offer a type of passive diffusing that’s affordable, portable, and doesn’t affect the people around you. Unlike wearing essential oils topically (which

can smell) or buying expensive diffuser jewelry, these cost pennies and can fit in your pocket until you need them.

Where to Buy Supplies link no longer available You can buy all the supplies you need for a DIY essential oil inhaler from Amazon if you really wanted. But, I do prefer to buy my essential oils directly from a company. It’s just too easy to tamper with the bottles, so I prefer to buy from a trusted source.

How to Make an Essential Oil Inhaler link no longer available First, gather all your supplies.

You’ll want to have your inhaler (disassembled), essential oils (see recipes below), tweezers, and a glass dish.

Add about 15 drops of your essential oils to the dish (if you’re making these for kids, stick with 6-10 drops). Using your tweezers, place the cotton wick in the oil and roll it until it absorbs all the oil.

Put your wick into the inhaler and secure the cap on the bottom, making sure it seals all the way.

Finally, put the top on the inhaler and add a label! I made mine using my label maker, scrapbook paper, and packing tape, and they hold up pretty well.

That’s it! Your inhaler is now ready to use. Simply hold it under your nose and take a few deep breaths. (I mean I’ve seen people stick them
