Ever wonder if those DIY beauty tutorials really work? Today, I’m sharing the top FAILS from my own experiments!
Sometimes things just don’t work out the way they’re meant to. When we find a DIY beauty tutorial that gives us high hopes for great results, it can be a real bummer to have it not deliver.
I used to get so disappointed every time a recipe didn’t work out, but over the years, I’ve learned to approach each new attempt with an open mind. It’s way more fun to see the comedy in a failed beauty attempt than it is to spend time upset. And so, after (
failed try, I thought I’d share some of my best fails with you.
No need to let this get you discouraged. Way more things work out than don’t, but
are officially dubbed “fails,” and will not be tried again.
DIY Hair Mask Fail link no longer available First, my daughter became obsessed with hair masks and started trying them. Every single one left her hair an oily mess, and like any good DIYer, I’d just find her another recipe. And another. And another.
After a few tries, she gave up and swore off of hair masks for life, but I was determined to find one I liked.
I’ve tried recipe after recipe, learned about different ingredients, and even tried making some of my own.
The final straw happened last week. I found a link no longer available hair mask, and just knew it was the one.
Maybe I’m just not cut out for these. Or, maybe, I should just leave my hair care to the pros in the future.
I decided to give this one a try because link no longer available moms in my Facebook groups swear by it over waxing.
The idea is that you can smooth this over your skin (like wax) and peel it off.
You’re supposed to use sugar, lemon juice, and water to make it, and no matter how many times I tried it, all I got was something that resembled a sugar scrub.
Not spreadable. Definitely not peel-able.
DIY Bubble Bath Fail link no longer available a bummer. I love a good bubble bath, and it’s the one thing I haven’t found a
natural solution for.
I was really optimistic about this recipe, because it was published by a really well known clean living blogger. Certainly, if she created the recipe, it was going to work.
Unfortunately, all it did was turn my bath water slightly grey and cloudy, and left a water line around the tub that I got to clean when I was done.
Huge bummer, but the good news in link no longer available situation, was that it prompted me to keep trying and find something I could actually enjoy. It’s what eventually prompted my
fizzing bath salts recipe link no longer available . So, if you’re missing your bubble baths, these aren’t link no longer available the same, but I think you’ll enjoy them!
