use a bullet journal as my main planner. It just seemed like too much work. I loved the concept of having a journal that also held my plans, but I need simplicity. Something that didn’t take any extra time.

Then, as I approached the new year realizing I’d barely touched my planner in months, I knew it was time to try something new. The idea of a bullet journal just kept coming to me and I decided to try it.

I did give myself some rules, though. First, I told myself I

to be okay with my bullet journal being messy sometimes. Second, I told myself that it was okay if I didn’t do the same thing week by week. I mean, isn’t that the point?

My Minimalist Bullet Journal Setup

It’s been about 6 months since I set up my bullet journal, and I couldn’t be happier. Some weeks, I use it daily. Other weeks, I completely forget about it.

This journal has everything from hand lettering to chicken scratch. Washi tape and categorized symbols to scribbles and marked out lists.

The thing that I love about a bullet journal is that you can do something different every single week. Need something different? Just turn the page and make a new spread.

Some of my bullet journal spreads are literally nothing more than a brain dump, as you can see from the video. But other times, I take a little time and make the pages look nice. Here are some of my favorite simple bullet journal spreads to give you a little inspiration.
